STOP RESCUING:  START COACHING

Donna Zajonc MCC

November 22, 2019
8:00 – 9:15 am EDT
Virtual Zoom Webinar

ICF CCEs: 1.0 Core Competency

As coaches, our passion to be change-agents may sometimes be confused with rescuing and saving others.   As a rescuer, we unknowingly disempower our clients and interfere with their development.  Attending coaches will experience immediate personal insights into rescuing behavior, and new awareness on how to shift into coaching ways of being, listening and taking action.

Based upon David Emerald’s book, The Power of TED*, coaches will become more aware of their rescuing behavior when they rescue clients, and insights into how to stop rescuing and start coaching.   They will also receive strategies on how to challenge clients who rescue others.

Takeaways include:

  • What situations "trigger" a coach and throw them into the reactive roles of victim, persecutor or rescuer that make up the Drama Triangle
  • Increased awareness of their unmet need that may be behind their tendency to rescue
  • Strategies on how to challenge clients who rescue others
  • How to focus on the positive roles of Creator, Challenger and Coach that make up the TED* triangle
  • Profound coaching tools and exercises to support a shift from drama to empowerment
The following Core Competencies will be supported in this program:

COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY

  • ACTIVE LISTENING
  • POWERFUL QUESTIONING
  • DIRECT COMMUNICATION

FACILITATING LEARNING AND RESULTS

  • CREATING AWARENESS
  • DESIGNING ACTIONS

Special offer includes complementary participation for one coach in Donna’s 2020 coaching webinar. Transforming Drama to Designing Dreams. 20 ICF CE credits.  Dates yet to be determined.  $795 value.
