Sponsor Spotlight: Coaching Neurodivergent Individuals on the Autism Spectrum

Stephanie Tishler, PCC | Published on 2/5/2026

We’re grateful to the businesses that support ICF-CT through sponsorship.

Dear ICF Connecticut Member,

It is estimated that 85% of individuals on the autism spectrum are un- or underemployed – including those with college degrees. Learn how to coach them to success – and earn 20 ICF CCE credits!

The Asperger’s/Autism Employment Coach Certification is a “deep dive” that will prepare you to assist individuals to choose the right career, get hired and maintain employment. It features 8 live, weekly sessions over the Internet plus a 6-week supervised practicum. It qualifies for 12 Core Competencies and 8 Resource Development CCE credits from the International Coaching Federation.

The Spring 2026 group begins on March 5 and includes:

  • Interactive, weekly meetings with case studies that highlight various autism profiles
  • Proven tools and techniques to address communication, executive function and sensory processing challenges
  • Weekly assignments consisting of readings, short answer questions, and case studies with the instructor’s personal feedback
  • A 6-week supervised practicum that provides hands-on experience and personalized mentoring

The training is provided by Barbara Bissonnette, Certified Coach and Principal of Forward Motion Coaching Inc. Since 2006 she has coached more than 1,500 spectrum clients -- the majority of whom have college degrees and are seeking competitive employment.
