President's Message from Monica Leggett

Published on 11/4/2019

Hello Coaches & Friends,

Our chapter board and volunteers have been working diligently to provide meetings, programming, coach cafés and soon, a holiday brunch – all in the name of serving our coaching community. A beautiful new venue, the Town & County Club in Hartford, hosted our October chapter meeting. Special thanks to Steve Porcaro for providing a wonderful presentation on “Presenting with Confidence.” Hartford area coaches were thrilled to be close to home and attendees learned dozens of tips and strategies for speaking. If you want to be a part of a Coach Café in the area please let us know. Save the dates: next Hartford meeting will be April 25, 2020 and Holiday Brunch will be in Rocky Hill on December 14th from 10-12.

Member benefits are continually growing, even on the website. Once logged in, you get access to member rates for meetings, a forum platform for members to communicate with each other on an array of topics, and a membership directory to seek out fellow members.

Did you know you can look through the member directory to find referral partners, carpool buddies, or even to hire fellow members for professional services? We have coaches focused on relationships, business development, team and executive coaching, career transition, life and health coaching, and so much more!

There’s one problem, though. If you don’t fill out your profile, no one will be able to find you or know what you do! And it’s more important than ever to have a robust profile because soon we will be rolling out our “Find a Coach” module. That means the public will be able to search through our membership directory -- but only for coaches who have filled out their profile and opted in. The public will be able to find the right coach, trainer, and/or speaker with the use of key word searches. Your membership page can become a resource link!

Many thanks to:

Steve Porcaro, Technology Chair, for all his hard work on researching and rolling out the many options that make our new website so robust. If you have any questions or problems please reach out to Steve at Technology@icf-ct.org

Stephanie Tishler, our acting Marketing Chair for all her effort. And welcome to our 2 new volunteers on the Marketing committee – Vivian Hardison and Paul Butler. Thanks also to Lori Candela for stepping up with help on the Holiday Brunch and to Sulaiman Avery for videotaping at the Hartford meeting.

We look forward to working with all of you! If there is a committee you’d like to join or new skill you’d like to develop, we welcome your participation. Please reach out to me at President@icf-ct.org.

Thanks,

Monica Leggett
